New Generator Building conduit duct, Emergency Department Tunnel Chilled Water Lines
Home to a trauma center and a neonatal intensive care unit, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical center is one of the busiest hospitals in the Mid Atlantic region. PipeWay has consistently been selected for major projects on the medical campus.
As a new generator facility was being built, the team was chosen to not only manage road crossing amid heavy traffic, but to also handle deep excavations and relocating utilities. PipeWay was able to install 13KV 6-way fiber conduit duct bank (720′) with rebar, while ensuring the infrastructure operated without interruption.
And when new steam and chilled water lines were needed for the Emergency Department, Bayview trusted the PipeWay team to coordinate a planned campus-wide outage, knowing the team could complete the work quickly, correctly and with minimal interruption. This project included test pitting & pipe design,; excavation for 150 feet utility (10’x10’) tunnel 13 to 20 feet deep;
Providing pre-fabricated 12 inch and 6 inch STM; 6 inch and 4 inch Cond.; 20 inch and 10 inch CHW; and 120 feet of 8 inch water relocation;600’ 12 way ductbank; 120 sanitary (20’ deep)
