Our History

For nearly 75 years, the Stinson Family has been tackling some of the Mid-Atlantic’s most challenging underground infrastructure projects. Starting in the 1940s, William H. Stinson began a decades-long career working at one of Baltimore’s oldest and most respected utility construction firms. His son, William Stinson followed suit, leading innovations like the installation of the first polyethylene chilled water system in the area as well as installing a solid 24” PVC liner in a live 36” force main that had been damaged by hydrogen sulfide gas. In the early 2000′s, Bill Stinson decided to follow in their footsteps, gaining invaluable early experience in the field and working as Estimator. The father and son team oversaw strong growth for the company, with annual sales growing from four million to over twelve million dollars per year.

In 2012, William retired and Bill saw a new opportunity to continue the tradition of high-quality work in a new venture. He founded PipeWay Energy Construction Inc. with the goal of providing the highest level of safety, workmanship, and quality to large institutions throughout Maryland. The company quickly earned a reputation for delivering first-rate service, on time and on budget, without cutting corners. Bill carefully assembled a team of experienced professionals, and the company has grown to include four full time crews, who are consistently working with some of the biggest utilities, hospitals, universities and commercial facilities in the region.
